I didn't make The Kennedys 8

Jup, gum.

Jup, gum.

Applying for The Kennedys Amsterdam.
Or: How you can't fail, as long as you really try.

I tried my best. And I didn't make it. But I've had such a blast and worked so hard and learned so much, that I don't feel like I've failed. Now I give you my application to tell you this: Find something that makes you push your boundaries and you will be rewarded. Either by someone else or by yourself.

In May, The Kennedys Amsterdam asked creatives of all sorts all over Europe to pick a few of those questions and to answer them in a way that best represents their skillset:

1- How are you?
2- Make a gif that represents your life.
3- Write and perform a 1-person play.
4- Make and then break something.
5- Who would you cast in a movie about your life?
6- Invent a swear word.
7- Make a 2min recording about someone that inspires you.
8- You're in a rap battle what’s your opening verse?
9- What would your last words be?
10- Make a short movie about a villain.
11- Give us your best “would you rather” question?
12- Make a short movie of your last dream.
13- Invent a store concept.
14- Make your own religion/cult top 10 mandates.
15- Pitch us your movie, tv show or theatre production.
16- Create a trailer for Mission Impossible using only dog memes/gifs.

After some weeks of carefully reviewing the applications, 8 people were chosen to form the 8th edition of The Kennedys.

When I got the mail, that made it official that I'm not one of them, I was just plain sad. But shortly after, I realised how happy I am with what my big wish of being a Kennedy made me do. Having something to work towards, made me find new ways and try new things. Never have I worked, tried, and learned more than in those 5 weeks. It brought the best out of me. I grew in many ways and that's a great building block for the next steps. Fail forward! Click here to see or download the pdf with my answers.
